About this site

hantavirus.one is an independent information aggregator. It republishes publicly available outbreak data and links to the original sources. It is not affiliated with any health authority.

What we do

We compile case counts, timeline events, and news headlines from primary sources (the WHO, the ECDC, the CDC, the PAHO, ProMED, and national health authorities) into one page that's easy to scan. The structured data behind the page is published openly at /data under CC BY 4.0.

What we don't do

Editorial principles

Every numerical claim on this site is attributed to a primary source, with a link. We use the case definitions used by the WHO in its Disease Outbreak News reports. When sources disagree, we follow the WHO's figures and note the discrepancy. Corrections are recorded in the data update history.

The site uses the CDC's and WHO's own descriptions of symptoms, transmission, and prevention, with attribution. Where we summarize, we summarize. We don't invent.

Who runs this

The site is built and maintained by a small independent team. For corrections, press inquiries, and legal notices, see /contact. The site has no commercial sponsors and accepts no advertising during an active outbreak.

How the site is built

It is a static site. HTML and CSS, no client-side framework. Data lives in CSV files, compiled to JSON at build time. The structured data is published at /data.

Funding and conflicts of interest

The project is self-funded. There are no commercial sponsors and no relationships with pharmaceutical companies, health authorities, or news organizations. If that changes, we'll disclose it on this page with a date.

Languages

The site is published in English. Translations may follow as the situation develops. If you'd like to help with a translation, please get in touch.
